Orbis at the PACCIN conference

Next month Orbis will be delivering a presentation at the PACCIN conference at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.

PACCIN is an international organisation established to further the understanding of hands on collections care and preservation of cultural property. The topic of the conference is ‘collaboration, innovation and sustainability in the field’, which we have responded to by discussing the use of sonic tomography in assessing the internal structure of the Figureheads and its potential wider in use in our industry.

We believe that this part of the project displays an interesting collaboration with arboriculturists, and certainly an innovative use of technology. We’re looking forward to catching up with colleagues and sharing our new experiences with this potentially useful analytical technique.
